Plex doesn't recognize second hdd

Hi guys, I have second internal hdd formated with ext4 where I keep my media files.
The hdd is mounted in " /mnt/media " and I used the drive tool in solus to mount the hdd but plex cannot see the drive.
What am I doing wrong?

Gonna bet that's your problem, you used some gui foo to do this (which probably results in the drive mounted under your personal id) versus real mount cmd-line. Unmount it and then remount it right (through CLI) and I bet you can add it in Plex and it'll work.
If it doesn't check permissions for the user that plex is running as on the mounted drive.

dbarron Its solved. I installed plex from snap store instead of the software center. Now plex is the latest version and there is no problem with the mounted drive. I have no idea why it works now!
Snap store has some problems when is installed and the solution is here on the last post.

If I interpreted correctly something I read recently, don't get too attached. I thought I read they were going to stop Plex development and go another route.
Being as I use it too, I hope I misinterpreted that. Anyone?

FWIW I've just updated the package in the third party repository to the latest version, not sure if that fixes your problem, or if it's something else that's wrong with it.

Staudey Hi I installed the plex from the third party software and its still not working.
The drive path is /run/media/vlado/data but i don't see it. I dont know why "hugepages" and "mqueue" folders are shown here.

Same issue with Plex, installed off of the software center 3rd party app section. Any updates??

Drewfus Is your disk permanently mounted? Via GNOME Disks or such?

Thanks for reminding me. I just tried it again on my own PC and I also can't see the mounted disk. Not sure if I'm knowledgeable enough to fix it but will take a look at it later.

Permanently mounted. The only drive Plex does see is my external, which mounts on startup.
It "sees" the drives, but can not access them, or show any of the folders on them.

Drewfus Permissions OK on that drive? Can your user read/write to it.

single user computer, only one account besides root, and has full root privileges. Only differences in the many drives aside from one being usb external, is all other drives besides external are ext4 format and external is exFAT. The EXT4 are all shown within Plex, but will not open to allow folder access.
