Good Day Folks,

Just to be clear, I have no issues with the current amount and selection of packages in the Solus repo, I simply want to know what is the process of "getting softare x into the repo"? Is there such a process, or are the packages in the repo determined by Solus team only?

Thanks for reading

Just for clarity, software having an existing flatpak / snap / appimage alternative doesn't preclude that software's inclusion in the Solus repository. Solus will always prefer compiling and packaging software for Solus when possible it allows greater control / customisation / integration. But if it is rejected having these alternatives is of course nice if you're not comfortable compiling it yourself.

Harvey Thank you for that information, I thought I had read the opposite. I prefer using eopkg where possible but have 1 or 2 flatpaks that I have had to rely on. Might have to put a package request together myself 😁

OK Cool, thank you all for the input. I will go through the documentation now 😃

Harvey Allow me to add to this that given the choice of your desired app existing in both solus repo and flat/app/snap the answer should be obvious without question: choose repo.
