duroursu If you are having freezing issues and you know nomodeset helps you, here is how you do it in Solus (I've had this issue before and it fixed it like a charm! ((credit goes to @Harvey ))
echo "nvidia-drm.modeset=1" | sudo tee /etc/kernel/cmdline.d/50-nvidia-drm.conf
then run
sudo clr-boot-manager update
Do a reboot and hopefully (fingers crossed) you should be good to go!
Also IF you're like me, my laptop is integrated graphics and nvidia graphics card, so I also had to blacklist the nouveau drivers by this command:
lsmod | grep nouveau
If you don't have dual graphics, then ignore this last command, and good luck!
