colorado_chris I am not seeing anywhere in network settings where to change DNS servers for the OS. I am sure it can be done in terminal of course but I have not done that before. Trying to use one of them from https://www.opennic.org/ thanks
dbarron Typically, it's /etc/resolv.conf, but I think some of the dhcp clients now over write it. I think the comments atop the file tell you where to edit it with regards to that.
Lucien_Lachance isnt it just gnome-control-center > network >click on the gear icon near your connection > ipv4 > disable automatic and enter your dns servers
colorado_chris Lucien_Lachance thanks. I was able to get it. It's per network connection (wifi or wired) and nested in the gear icon you mentioned.
