lexus Ok. You want those files to migrate over to another machine/hardware? Then you need to know that every system connection is assigned with an UUID based on your MAC address ( MAC = hardware address). You can move over all files in /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections of course. copy paste it with USB stick or do it over network with scp, sftp, ssh etc. (as you stated you are new to this, so I assume you don't know how to do it) So copy files on USB stick move it over to your other machine. Use the "cp" command in terminal to move it from and to /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections
Be aware that you need to remove the MAC address of the connections otherwise it will not work on the new machine. So you need to edit the file(s) with
sudo nano FILENAME
and edit this
[ethernet]
mac-address=XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX
mac-address-blacklist=
you can change the mac-address part with
cd /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections
sed -i -e 's/<old mac>/<new mac>/' *
or delete the part with mac-address and then use:
ip a
for new mac-address
also be aware that if there are any openvpn stuff or whatever, you would maybe need the particular .crt files.
restart NetworkManager with
systemctl restart NetworkManager
