@JoshStrobl so, your saying if I'm using piracy to watch movies and series that I'm not allowed to use Solus? I never asked you to add Popcorntime to the Solus repositories / software store, i asked how to compile it, for my own personal use, my personal use has nothing to do with the Distro ... neither Microsoft, nor other Linux distro's approve of piracy, yet, piracy software can be installed on those systems, for example on Arch based distro's its a simple point and click in pamac in the AUR, on debian/ubuntu based distros there are clear instructions on how to compile / make the software from source or from the tarball and it's on Ubuntu's and Debians official forums, yet they dont condone piracy, nor does it mean that they do ... also, there is a Unofficial Deezer Linux client @ https://aur.archlinux.org/deezer.git and it works very well, and Deezer is not a piracy software, I'm a premium Deezer user, and Spotify is not accessible in Serbia, the quality of audio on Deezer website vs Deezer app is significantly different so... lets just forget about Popcorntime, and tell me if and how I could get Deezer on Solus, also, there is very little documentation out there about Solus and how to do stuff on Solus, and I'm sure, there will be many users who will benefit from the solutions suggestions given in this thread as they can be used for other apps as well that arent given in the Solus repositories... but regarding Popcorntime, i could refrase my question to: How to install apps from source on Solus?
@abdulocracy so what i download the tarball, I copy the tarball in to /opt and create a start menu entry for it and run it from the start menu and that's it? no unpacking the tarball, compiling / making it or something? Have in mind that I'm not a linux expert, so what you suggested is familiar to me, I"m wondering if the process is the same as on Ubuntu for example, because on Ubuntu I'm sure i had to type make in the process ... a clearer instruction would be nice, thanks
