Hi there!

I would like some help with the problem described in the title of this post:
Whenever I have to cancel a printing job the software managing the printers is unable to cancel them.
No matter what button I click - nothing whatsoever happens.
Not even a reboot helps: I open the printer manager again to check and, yes, there they are: All the printing jobs I have started and would like to remove.

Sometimes in the office there are different printers with similar names, and if I pick a wrong one for a printing job I would like to remove the job as it blocks a printer somewhere on the local network.
And that doesn't work, has never worked - and I have been using SOLUS for quite some time now, since the old Ikey days.

I'm on SOLUS Budgie, latest current kernel, latest updates installed.
Thinkpad W530, just SOLUS and no other OS installed (what for? I'm a happy user and a fan of your wonderful OS!).

Thanks for your help!

SOLUSfiddler

This is a known issue. There's some fixes that need to be made to cups-pk-helper, so if anyone is looking for a way to contribute and start getting into Solus packaging, this would be a potentially low hanging fruit to get started.

Wow - that was quick to reply! Thanks!!

I love low hanging fruit and like eating them, yet, I have to admit I wouldn't be of much help here growing them.
So, I just "hang in there", so to speak and hope for a knowledgeable farmer!
I'll also read up about the issue - thanks for the link!

Hi JoshStrobl, I am interested in getting started, maybe you can assign this one to me while I get up to speed? I added myself as a subscriber in the dev tracker.

If you usually upgrade using the Software Center, just upgrading everything will suffice. Or you can search for the package name and manually update it.

From the terminal, you would do: sudo eopkg upgrade cups-pk-helper or just sudo eopkg upgrade to upgrade everything. (up is shorthand for upgrade, you can use that if preferred.)

It seems to have been SOLVED:
I could delete an old printer job I was hoping to be able to delete - so thanks a lot!
