Hi everyone !

I saw that the proposal for 2.10.10 has been closed, because gegl has been reverted back to 0.4.12 from 0.4.14
(or at least that is my understanding)

I'm not sure what it means for GIMP updates (2.10.10 or 2.10.12).

Is it in standby because of gegl, or something ?

(I'm sorry, not an expert here, and don't want to bother JoshStrobl or Christoph3 with spams on dev.getsol.us with non-essential request. I'm really happy with 2.10.8, so, there's no "emergency" here)

I'd just like to know : What is the plan for Gimp, in the future ?
Update it in Solus Software Center (when gegl will be updated ?), or maybe stop maintaining Gimp and tell users to use the flatpak package (or snap one) ?

Thanks !

babl/gegl were reverted because for some reason libmypaint failed to build against the newer version of these packages.
the newer versions are however a pre-requisite for updating gimp.

kyrios So, there's some problems with upstream so packagers is waiting for it stabilize?

Fatih19 If you're interested, the log file with the error is here. The thing is that libmypaint 1.3.0 isn't updated anymore and libmypaint 2.0.0 is still in alpha stage so the situation isn't ideal.

This patch should probably work for us. Another (more extreme) solution would be to do like fedora and disable gegl support in libmypaint.

libgtk-2 should also be updated and all its reverse dependencies have to be rebuilt. This isn't hard but too lenghty for me.

        Sorry guys !

I just wanted to add the "Solved" flag, or something, but I coul'nd.

        Up to date !

Thanks you guys, and topic "solved" !
