Dim screen when inactive

Is there a way to prevent the screen from dimming while watching videos without disabling "dim screen when inactive" setting?
What I want is for videos to be considered active so the screen doesn't dim.

Which desktop are you using? For Budgie/GNOME there's an applet/extension called caffeine. For Plasma there's this https://store.kde.org/p/1212005/, not sure about MATE.

I'm using Budgie. Thanks for the info I will give caffeine a try.

Usually I install from the software center using "Solus Budgie" . I tried copy pasting the commands from github but I could not install caffeine.
If someone could kindly post the commands I need to install caffeine, I would greatly appreciate it.
Until then I will continue to try and figure this out.

There aren't any commands. It's part of Budgie in Budgie 10.5. Just open up Budgie Desktop Settings, go to the Bottom Panel, and add the Caffeine applet.
