It's not planned for now because it's used for desktop icons on Budgie.
Nautilus aka Files update
oh, no. Does it mean, Solus will be using outdated Files for much longer? "Not planned" sounds terrible
supermelon at the latest this will be resolved with Budgie 11 release (worst case scenario).
You can use de nautilus flatpak.
otavioschwanck interesting. Have you used something like that? Does it work without problems?
What's the advantage of the flatpak version?
Not sure. I have this on my testing drive (Fedora currently):
OK so you have no clue what the new version brings but it got a bigger version number so you want it.... Ppfffff...
kyrios nah, I'm not sure how flatpak version works.
I'm pretty sure about what's new in Files version. Nothing that break my workflow, but - in general - I prefer recent stable version of the every-day-usage software.
supermelon So no actual features just a newer number?

is this what we are talking about? https://github.com/GNOME/nautilus/blob/master/NEWS
edit; if it is then i dont see any new features as such but there is a pretty big list of changes and improvements imo
[deleted] yup, the list is pretty long.
I've managed to run the flatpak version (kudos @otavioschwanck ) - so I can run side by side both versions. In one word - newer is better (that's 3 words )

supermelon Can you post the instructions. I can't find in on flathub.
Edit: Nevermind, I found it. https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/Nightly
installed it, just to see how it will work as a flatpak.
