paracetamol that is reassuring even though I have never seen that behaviour on any of my PCs before. Makes me wonder more, why on two but not on the third?

I do agree with paracetamol that this was 'a thing' (broken kernel) as I've seen it in some posts although I really didn't commit the hows/whys to memory...or whatever the devs said about it...I don't think I would like to see that in my output either.
sudo eopkg checkfor me, just now, says linux-current is OK.

Thanks for the updates!

Looks like after this sync the middle mouse paste action from text selection is not working in most of the applications - browsers, terminals and etc. It still works in sublime.
Any ideas how to fix it ?

Check: gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-enable-primary-paste. If it is false, change it to: gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-enable-primary-paste true.

Axios How many kernels you have on your machine

I have
com.solus-project.current.6.18.23-334
com.solus-project.lts.6.18.23-284
Currently booting on the LTS so that I could uninstall then reinstall current. It shows up as broken even after doing so.
As everything seems to work regardless I will go back onto current and see how it goes.

paracetamol Today I "woke up" to a not working Visual Studio Code and logs of coredumps during attempted launch in the system journal. On a hunch I logged back to GNOME and both Visual Studio Code and Flameshot work without a hitch there.

So I think this is GDM no longer playing nice with an X11 window manager. Oh well, I suppose I am back on GNOME then.

paracetamol Was this with Budgie or Openbox? I also had issues recently when starting Budgie via the new GNOME50 GDM. Budgie falsly believed running in wayland, and Chrome and other apps wouldnt start. Start the DE or WM that gave you the issues and run in terminal echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE
Does it report wayland or X11?

For some reason, after the update, my printer won't print cyrillic characters when I print from certain programs, such as Firefox or Gnome Text Editor. I haven't changed anything, and I'm sure the driver is installed correctly. In the preview everything is OK. Help please?

Edit: Downgraded ghostscript to 9.56.1-27-1 and problem is gone.

Identical thing happened to me with middleclick paste in arch budgie wayland....since copy/paste doesn't work in terminal I could not take any info out of terminal: output etc and paste it anywhere..same with into browsers

...a guy in the arch forum sent me to a gsettings command where something went from false to true. It worked I can't log in there til I'm home from work in 4 hours.

Can get that to you later if someone does not find it for you before then

PS--notice lately so many problems come down to a gsetting? 🤷

brent Installed the dconf-editor, and set the primary paste method. Worked immediately.

elfprince something agnostic to those two caused it..and mine happened right after an update too.

Sebastian Openbox. And it reported wayland. But putting export XDG_SESSION_TYPE=x11 into ~/.config/openbox/environment made both flameshot and VS Code work again, so thanks so much for that! 😃

I'm glad that worked.
This restored middleclick for me in Endeavour: gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-enable-primary-paste true
maybe it's cousins with the dconf setting

paracetamol Was considering to open an issue with GDM for that, as a GDM dev had stated last year that while X11 is gonna be removed completely from GNOME, GDM will still be capable of starting X11 sessions properly.

Turns out someone else already created such issue.
Fingers crossed for that they will fix it.
