Solarmass Level1Techs content might be considered more 'advanced', it's at least more technical. I think they would be more likely to do a file system comparison than a distro comparison though. More results focused. They have a separate channel just for Linux.

As for Nick, he's never really seemed hooked by Solus or Budgie. I haven't heard him be disrespectful, though, so if someone wants to hate him, they'll have to hate the other 95+% of desktop Linux users who prefer something else as well, and that's just not healthy. 🙂

Distro ranking is very subjective to the person doing it. I didn't watch the video just looked at the tier list at the end. I disagree with a lot of his choices but it is his opinion. What I don't like about tier lists in general is that it is confusing for the viewer at the end. One video with a tier list will say something and another one will say something else so how does it helps someone making a choice of distro actually? Not that much.

I use Arch too as a testing distro.
I haven't noticed speed differences between eopkg and pacman 🤷
No idea about apt.
