"MusicMatch Jukebox" asfaik is only WIN/Wine as you alluded.

Had a 2.5-hour block where I was able to concentrate on (digital)l work with no distraction today. With Tauon.

RESULT: in 'shuffle mode' I had NO duplicates. First time in a couple or more years.

I could count half a dozen players I've used recently that couldn't make the 1 hour hurdle without a repeat.

Now if it starts the duplicate BS in the 3rd hour my heart will be broke. But Tauon solid overall.

around the 4th hour it played its first duplicate but that's head and shoulders above the rest. will stick with it.
thanks for the link I liked radio as well via radiotray but I'm sure they all draw upon the same stations. I am rocking on 🙂

Just installed the Tauon flatpak earlier today based on this thread. Set it up and have to say I like it. It is not flashy, but looks sleek and simple. Exactly my style and it does the job well. Thanks for the recommendation @Solarmass

And yeah @Original-Syn I looked at the dependencies for Tauon. I do quite a bit of Python dev work for my job and I am just going to say that list made my head hurt. I wouldn't want to package that, even if I knew how to package for Solus.

my style as well. not flashy. just a list with small menu. I loved Strawberry and all the ones like that, so gorgeous on the eyes but I just want music to play, not much more 🙂

Sleek and simple, exactly! It's minimal but very functional and customizable with a lot of cool hidden features!

It has a perfect 3-pane layout: playlist list > playlist > cover-art and you can have album cover-art to fill the whole cover-art pane! So dope!

One of my favorite feature is Queue manager. You can add songs to the Queue by middle click (!) across separate playlists and even the same song several times!

when I was 18 it sucked to get called in there and I did what I could to never get called back...these days I don't know. Character flaw perhaps. The cards fall where they fall. Acting on emotion rarely works in my favor. And maybe it shouldn't.

UPDATE: this is the ugliest thing I ever played music through, it's VLC.

Tauon is nice in Endeavour. But I didn't need anymore Flatpaks in Solus. It had to be Solus repo.

Like LibreWriter there's about 7,500 buttons and settings I'll never use (overkill)...but it's lone "random" button has been OK the last 7 days. I have to keep this app minimized, obviously. 🙂

I never do things the way they are supposed to be done and it's not intentional. But it's M.O. for sure...
Last time I was happy with a stock (repo) music player was Museeks and that disappeared off the face of the earth.

I shan't mess with VLC for now, it works! So hard on the eyes though. Hate to get in a time machine 8 years and go back to Strawberry but you never know.

My lesson this ordeal? A guy or girl has to endure duplicate tracks when they tell it not to play duplicate tracks. Nature of the beast.

But none of this is serious life and death stuff anyway 🙂

Work-at-home day. 3 hours pass in a 500-song playlist set to 'shuffle'....like Tauon, one repeat per 3 hour block is miles ahead of the rest. 5 stupid windows that I can't get rid of. Only need the playlist on the left. I'll figure it out.
BTW it's solus repo Sayonara.
Once every 3 hours I can entirely tolerate. Dig it.

I am done with this saga. Will work for non-repeating music player 🙂

Of all my music player complaints I forgot about a common one: APP DOES NOT SEE EXTERNAL DRIVE where the music is. I can think of 5 in a row I installed/removed in a day or two. Awful. Thanks for reminding me about that one.

brent yea, I tried this music player before. UI and buttons look very outdated and layout is not for me.

I am not searching for a new music player, already found the ONE 🙂
