Sounds like you want to pass a USB Garmin receiver through to the VirtualBox. You can do this in the VM settings

Depending on what port you plug your Garmin USB Receiver in depends on which type of controller you need to pass.

maskarin I use a bridged connection too and it works just fine. Just make sure to configure a fixed IP address for the virtual machine that is in the same subnet as the host.
Keep in mind that bridged is tied to a network adapter, so if you have a laptop connected with a network cable and you unplug the cable to switch to the wireless adapter (or vice versa), you'll have to link the bridged connection to the other network adapter. This requires a restart of the VM I think since you can't update this setting while the guest machine is running.

I actually this afternoon saw all my connection meters. So first I deleted the old host and I reinstalled a new one by paying careful attention to this shot there to all the parameters and not without anything to cheer as I did it the first time. When the second machine was installed, there was an invalid parameter detected ?? the one was in System> acceleration> hardware virtualization and you had to deactivate the box: Activate VT-x / AMD-V and the invalid parameter disappeared and Ws connected normally when it started.
