I was using firefox and budgie went to login screen out of the blue
Is this part of the current firefox issue (dont have 3 button mouse)
Hasnt happened again yet.

Axios middle click scrolling in latest Firefox triggers Budgie crash. You can disable it in Firefox till issue resolved.

No.

It's Nvidia's attempt at somewhat open source drivers for newer cards.

once more the system collapses and can´t get into it. last time it fixed itself after some days but now it´s broken again. I don´t know what the problem is, how to fix it, or why it keeps happening with every single big update. is it because of kernel update? budgie? would it be possible to not discard the older kernel (which works) until it is clear that the new one works flawlessly?

msKaleb it seems it's not a kernel problem, but lightdm:

sudo systemctl restart lightdm.service
solves the problem, but I have to restart it every time I reboot the system. Should I reinstall any package?

what king of GPU? Probably stable nvidia driver (580)

It seems like I have a choice between
nvidia-glx-driver-current
and
nvidia-open-current
Both would be from Nvidia, both would currently be version 580.
The former is what I've always used in the past. The latter was new to me.

Seem to be having an issue with the Solus repo after this update? I'm getting the following when I open up Discover on KDE Plasma which means I can't install or update apps from it. Flatpak is working fine.

The Firefox issue is not just with autoscrolling. I've disabled the setting, but when using the website https://pairdrop.net, everything crashes and logs me out when I click this: https://i.imgur.com/ABslJIV.png.

I've confirmed this on two systems running Budgie and using Firefox. I also have ungoogled Chromium from Flathub and the problem does not exist with that browser.

It makes me shudder to read something like that and then see two links.

I wouldn't click on anything unless I was absolutely sure they were safe.

Something similar happened to me, clicking on a specific link closed the graphic session (lightdm) and sent me to login screen. It didn't happen with ungoogled chromium. Can it be related with the problem I asked help for?
I had to bypass my problem with starting graphic session by adding a 3 second delay to lightdm.service. In case any developer happens to read this, maybe there's something I can do to fix it without delay.

AlphaElwedritsch Yesterday after I updated a laptop when trying to start a jitsi I got immediately kicked to the login screen, without clicking anything; got into the room webcam shows images, and one second later everything closes, dark screen into login screen. Pastebin

The Solus updates went well, as always, but a weeks-old issue with a firmware update for my Lenovo machine still persists. Discover has been notifying me for weeks about the Lenovo Embedded Controller update. I have tried installing it many times, but it never gets installed. When I install the Solus updates, the machine tries to install this firmware update as well, and when I reboot the machine, it gets stuck with a blank screen. I have to to a hard shutdown and start the machine again for it to work.

Had posted this issue after last week's updates. Thanks to Axios for sharing the link to a helpful thread (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=250877). Wanted to see if disabling the boot order lock, which apparently blocks fwupdmgr's flow, would work. But I found that I can no longer access the firmware interface. When I select the option to reboot into the firmware interface, I just get a blank screen. Earlier, whenever I booted the machine, a message would appear below the Lenovo logo: 'Press Esc to interrupt normal startup', which enables you to access the BIOS. This message no longer appears. Could it be that my repeated attempts to install the firmware update have somehow rendered the firmware interface inaccessible? Any help/suggestions would be most welcome.
