Important! The NVIDIA 590 driver drops support for Pascal, Maxwell, and Volta series cards!

This thing is real! I updated beta driver branch from 580 to 590 (for science) and my system booted into black screen. To fix it I had to uninstall beta driver and install nvidia-glx-driver-current (580 driver)

Yes and 6.5.5 does not exist yet as a stable release. 6.5.4 is the latest and was released on 9th December 2025 which is what is on stable now.

Upstream put out an alert to maintainers highly recommending that we pull in the patch to fix the issue for 6.5.4 instead of just keeping people dealing with the issue until 6.5.5 is released in January 2026. Which is what i did, this is not uncommon.

I had a minor inconvience after this week's update, after not updating for weeks/months so I can't tell which update caused it.

I could not login (GNOME) : wrong password. After trying several times, more and more concerned, I checked the locale which was wrong (not fr) at login only. Fixed it with localectl set-x11-keymap fr because localectl status returned 'unset' for VC Keymap and X11 Layout. All good now.

Also, my computer seems to talk to me now, I have to investigate that.

Hey! On a recent update you removed the wallpaper with the blurred purple background and the word "solus" on it from the default wallpapers in the gnome version. Could you add it back? Was my favourite wallpaper.

Klow-e This probably won't be added back. BUT you can download this package:
https://packages.getsol.us/polaris/s/solus-artwork/solus-artwork-31.0-53-1-x86_64.eopkg
from here:
https://packages.getsol.us/polaris/s/solus-artwork/

That's the previous version of the package that contains the wallpapers.

Do not install it. Open it with archive program. In folder solus-artwork-31.0-53-1-x86_64/install/usr/share/backgrounds/solus you will find your wallpaper.

Save it to your pictures directory or ~/.local/share/backgrounds or wherever.

Firefox still crashing on Budgie here, though I've never had autoscrolling selected (smooth scrolling only). Turning off smooth scrolling seems to have helped a bit (crashes less frequently).
