TraceyC I was able to reproduce this. After discussing this with the team, we do suspect the latest CUPS update is likely the cause. I've opened an issue and we'll take a look.
AlphaElwedritsch same here on gnome and vivaldi. And yes, I can confirm that it started happening after the last sync and therefore since the CUPS update. The problem didn't exist before that.
brent I cannot print from my three flatpaks: Mullvad, Ungoogled, librewolf. Glad to know its unrelated to flatpaks.
Axios Print to PDF works fine from browser But to printer same as everyone. Oh mine is network printer Everything works from Hplip just fine Hope it helps
treehouse55 Probably seeing this when trying to print via Gimp on KDE Solus as well. For me the print popup does not show, in the taskbar next to Gimp a Wayland logo is visible (which is the print "popup") but the actual print popup never shows up.
brent riffer I'm on endeavour and I downgraded to CUPS 2:2.4.14-1 to get things working again. re: endeavour gonna wait things out for now. but I saw that workaround ^ posted there. I've done that a time or two (rollbacks) and it's effective but never feels good..but if you go to get running you got to get running.
banger As a work around you can print to pdf then print from the command line with lpr -P printer filename.pdf
brent banger As a work around you can print to pdf then print from the command line with lpr -P printer filename.pdf print dialogue can print web page to pdf, pdf to printer/paper. the same print dialogue program can no longer take a web page and convert it into something that can be printed on paper. Definition of a bug to me. At least it's known world-wide now 🙂 ps--great workaround
TraceyC Until the CUPS team provides a fix, the easiest way to print web content will be printing to PDF and then using a PDF reader to print it. For anyone who wants to follow the progress of the upstream work, you can subscribe to the CUPS issue.
diagnostics0 Fix has been made and is waiting to be merged: https://github.com/OpenPrinting/cups/pull/1439
silke The fix from CUPS has been applied to the package, which has been cherry-picked to stable. Happy printing!
penny-farthing silke I just processed a Solus update which includes a new version of the cups package (2.4.15-40). I successfully printed a web page. So, I thank you for your quick and efficient response. 👍 Cheers!
