Install Chrome from 3rd party

I've been using a bash script to install Google Chrome with eopkg using Solus 3rd party repo :

sudo -S eopkg bi --ignore-safety https://raw.githubusercontent.com/getsolus/3rd-party/master/network/web/browser/google-chrome-stable/pspec.xml sudo -S eopkg it google-chrome-*.eopkg

With the python3 version of eopkg, this cannot be done anymore simply with eopkg. Since the 3rd party repo is (or about to be) deprecated, I'm wondering if there's still a way to get a native version of Chrome or if I must use the Flatpak or Snap version of Chrome?

curlor gitif they have a GitHub presence. They should, right? But when I see their page I see no downloads...

I've never heard a complaint about the flatpak except the browser icon won't pin to panel in Budge without some extra work. I use flatpak chromium quite happily,

you could compile. I began compiling Ungoogled from the AUR but three hours passed and it looked like it would take 3 hours more so I stopped that.

according to my link that command (2 yrs old) goes right to chrome.com for the fetch. maybe you can find a linux install at chrome.com?

Well, the script repackage the deb to eopkg (Arch does the equivalent) but it's not possible with the latest eopkg version : (

wow I did not look deep enough there sorry. Perhaps I was asking too much. I do wonder if it exists as a tarball for non-deb/fedora systems but you probably did the looking already

It actually seems to be still possible. I had the same issue today as I wanted to update chrome.
I checked:

It states:
sudo eopkg.py2 bi --ignore-safety https://raw.githubusercontent.com/getsolus/3rd-party/master/network/web/browser/google-chrome-stable/pspec.xml sudo eopkg it google-chrome-*.eopkg

This doesn't work because eopkg.py2 is deprecated alongside python2.
So I tried those commands by replacing eopkg.py2 with eopkg.py3:
sudo eopkg.py3 bi --ignore-safety https://raw.githubusercontent.com/getsolus/3rd-party/master/network/web/browser/google-chrome-stable/pspec.xml sudo eopkg it google-chrome-*.eopkg

This actually worked.

It is going away stop using it. Switch to the flatpak.
