Since allot of people aren't happy with the Plata theme i thought i might suggest an theme that i found on Gnome-Look.org.
This theme is called "Sweet" and it comes in many colors, the reason i wanna suggest this theme is because it has almost the same colors as the terminal does so in my opinion this can be a good fit for Solus.

Let me know what you guys think about it.

Tjay Since allot of people aren't happy with the Plata theme

Okay this is an affirmation coming out of nowhere...

You can make a package request for the theme but defaults are chosen by the core team each time new official ISOs are issued.

Plata is definitely too dark and I'm a big fan of dark themes. Adapta looked better and was more subtle, too bad it's no longer supported.

    Now I'm using Qogir dark.

Not sure I understand requests to change defaults that are easily changed in a few seconds. IMO the ones doing the work of maintaining should be picking these kinds of things, right?

(Also I really do hope Solus doesn't start trying to turn into some "mac clone" distro... no thanks.)

I do like Plata, although I did switch to Plata-Noir-Compact to fix some odd rendering issue on an app or two I noticed. 😀

These two themes are the best for me.
There is one wish in the design Solus:
This is a complete set of papyrus icons.
And pay attention to how beautiful the black cursor (capitaine) looks like with the theme of Plata Noir.

I've seen like 3 or 4 comments, not posts, about the theme being a bit hard to read. That's it.

At the end of the day, opendesktop.org is a website. Go and get which ever theme you want. I'd much rather the devs keep the ISO small rather than packing in a bunch of unnecessary stuff like optional themes.

Soopyyy i have to agree with you on this one again it was just a suggestion trying to give some feedback. I really love Solus and since i can't contribute any code to the project i was just trying to help with other idea's / suggestions.

I'm using Qogir-dark with Oranchelo-Beka, and I think it's beautiful; buuut it comes down to personal preference.

Maybe theme selection could be included in the installer? In a liveCD/USB environment, it might even be worth letting the user switch between themes in the installer and have their look and feel shown on that installer window.
It would both help to highlight the customisability of Solus, and it'd help to avoid complaints like this.

I was thinking "what is all this nonsense?" Arc-darker is the solus default for all my installs. Then I looked for arc in raven and it was no longer installed.
        wth? I didn't uninstall it....
It takes me a long time to notice things....
I like Plata a lot. Yes, it's a 'Spinal Tap' dialogue about "black"..........
but I found arc again in SC and re-installed.
        But enough of all this.
Whatever core team member shoe-horned all those Surf packages into icons/themes deserves a medal. Surf rocks.
        PS--Qoqir is beautiful too

Yes, iso should be small, but there are still flaws with the design. Such as not a complete set of icons and a gray cursor on the plasma. The fact that the theme of Fee Noir is chosen as the default is, of course, beautiful and harmonious. But, let's say, i use as a main player audacious, not a rhythmbox.

youswer That clock in desktop you see on Ubuntu Budgie is an applet, not a conky.

          Sorry, did not know ..
          From Ubuntu long gone.
          First on Arch, now Solus.

I love the default theme and the icons. One of the reasons for me to choose this distro was the default theme.

          Tourette

Ah, I'm definitely a fan of Qogir. Used it for a while with Solus (but then switched back to Adapta because of some rendering issues with the new Budgie version).
