My son had updated his laptop yesterday using sudo eopkg up -y which brought the version 4.8 branding with it. Initial login after reboot was also working. The only thing we knowingly did afterwards was a flatpak update from the command line. Might be, the laptop ran out of power after this, but don't know really. After next reboot, the login at lightdm doesn't work anymore. Error is 'Failed to start session'.
Based on an older post, I took the journal logs with sudo journalctl -b0. You can find it at https://pastebin.com/6t5PQYV5. Regarding the timestamps, I booted roughly at 14:55:10, then tried to log in at 14:57:00 and logged in to a tty session at 14:58:00 to take the logs.
There are only two relevant lines at the time of login:
Nov 23 14:57:05 akoya lightdm[991]: gkr-pam: unable to locate daemon control file
Nov 23 14:57:05 akoya lightdm[991]: gkr-pam: stashed password to try later in open session
Any help for analyzing / fixing this is appreciated.
