Mark12870 In fairness, the reality is that NVIDIA and the rest of the Linux ecosystem dropped support for the old NVIDIA driver; NVIDIA by refusing to update it for Wayland, and the rest of the Linux ecosystem for refusing to continue to support the impossible-to-secure Xorg codebase.
Hence, the decision to not update a closed source driver should solely be attributed to NVIDIA.
Solus went out of its way to support the NVIDIA driver after it was abandoned by NVIDIA, but the burden is now becoming so high as to finally be untenable.
But sure, a popup saying "Your NVIDIA graphics card is no longer officially supported by NVIDIA." might not go amiss, given this is what is actually happening.
EDIT: I just want to point out that the last paragraph was about attributing this unfortunate development to NVIDIA, not about putting unreasonable demands on the developers of Solus (in case that was not clear).
