That's not the case for me. I taught myself English by watching movies and series in English with English subtitles.

I read English, but I often have to reread several times to fully understand.
I write less well and very slowly. What takes you a few seconds to write takes me several minutes.
But I'm learning, and that's good.

Hello,

This morning I had the same problem as in the first post.
I suspect it's the login screen at startup.
I use a password to access the desktop.
I changed the appearance of the login screen and the next day I got a black window with a cursor.
My question is:

is it possible to disable or remove the password login?
If so, how? Is there a command to do this?
I think that's what's causing the problem.

I tried all of @brent's commands without success.
I also tried updating without success.
I used the TTY terminal ctrl+alt+F2.
Thank you for your help.

Korfou Yes, it is possible to auto login.
Budgie Control Center > Users, and select auto login.

When you boot the computer, do you see the login screen at all, or just the black screen with the mouse cursor?

If you don't see the login screen at all, then please see my first reply.

It's a bug either with the Plasma compositor (kwin) or the display driver (mesa). In that case, please open an issue on the KDE bug tracker for this under kwin - general. This is a problem that Solus can't fix, but the KDE folks can troubleshoot and perhaps fix. Thanks.

I would like to know how to remove the login screen via the terminal.

I am using Plasma, not Budgie.

I really suspect that this screen is the problem.
The day before, I replaced it with another one, and the next day the problem appeared.
However, I had started it up several times without any problems.
I think that's what's causing the problem.

Your best bet is to open an issue on the KDE bug tracker under kwin. I am a KDE contributor, and I'm generally familiar with this.

I did what @elfprince said in the kde_settings.conf file and was able to get to the desktop.
Now, when I start up, I no longer get the window where I enter the password.

I'll re-enter the password at start-up and see what happens.
I'II let you know.

So I reset the password at startup by selecting one of the options in the Login Screen sddm section.
At startup, a black screen with a cursor appears.
I will try another login option until I find the right one.

Conclusive test. It is indeed the choice of the sddm login screen that is at fault.

If you want a password at system startup when installing SolusOS, everything works fine.
But when you install another sddm screen, you get a black screen at startup.
In this case, I use the Breeze screen, which works.
Mystery solved.

However, I don't understand why it suddenly stopped working.
I suspect that upgrading from KDE Plasma to version 6 caused this issue.
Before the problem arose, I was using another sddm screen without any issues.

Am I the only one who has had this problem with Plasma?

Thank you that information was helpful.

It does indeed appear that all sddm themes other than breeze do not work. This seems to be because sddm is running as wayland now and these ancient sddm themes do not play well with it.

The old sddm themes didn't work with Wayland?
What did they work with?

Unless I'm misunderstanding, Wayland was present, so surely the sddm themes were too, weren't they?

Ah, right. I didn't know that. So, yes, these themes do conflict.
How can this be resolved, or who can resolve it?

Well the only "resolving" to do from our end would be to try stop users encountering it by removing these troublesome themes.

I have four themes that cannot be deleted, and I use Breeze. All the others are deleted.

I think I found a way to keep themes. Just need to discuss it with team. Just commenting to confirm this is 100% an issue Solus can solve. At least for the built in themes for sddm.
