Dear Solus friends,
When I enter my LUKS password incorrectly when booting my laptop, the input will hang indefinitely beneath the asterisks obscuring the password. I enter the (incorrect) password, hit enter and the cursor will blink beneath the password field. The first time this happened I waited 15 minutes, but it still hung there. This didn't happen before. I think this behaviour has begun about 1-2 months ago, but cannot put an exact date on it.
It looks something like this:
password:*******
_ (blinking)
The only way out of this is holding down the power button, or in my case (due to a broken power button), unplugging the laptop and waiting for the battery to run out completely.
An aside: I have to enter my LUKS password twice, once to unlock root, the second time to unlock the model number of my hard drive. On a new laptop that I set up recently, one must enter the password only once.
Since this is to do with decrypting the hard drive, I am somewhat concerned about this issue.
Any help would be much appreciated.
