Gnome 49 wayland only ?

I would like to know if solus is gonna switch to wayland only in gnome flavour since that is what upstream recommends or is it gonna try to keep building with Xorg support as long as possible
also are there any ETA's for when 49 is gonna be released now that Epoch transistion was done quite elegantly 😁??

Heya folks! It's sync day, and that means it's time for the weekly Solus roundup!
We're doing an early sync this week so we can have more time in Unstable to test systemd,
Plasma 6.5.1, and GNOME 49. There will be no sync this Friday, Oct 31!

So it seems that GNOME49 is going to land in stable friday of next week.
For X11 support I do not know.

Considering people are still trying to get the new gnome and systemd to work, how about we just wait until it lands in unstable. Things are ready when they are ready.

Gnome 49 is already on unstable repo. We still enable X11 support at this moment but it is not looking good. Testing is still ongoing but don't hold your breath for X11 surviving. When the decision is made (whether we keep X11 session or not) , we will announce it before sync. Cheers!

alfisya Why all the fuss? I always thought: X11-only applications could still be used, of course, thanks to XWayland.

Other distributions do it the same way. Time to get rid of outdated practices...
