Hi. Are there any plans to upgrade LibreOffice in the repository to the 25.8 series? I'm running Solus in a VM and I've noticed that LibreOffice is still at 25.2.*. Thanks!

I updated through terminal sudo eopkg upgrade everything was updated fine

Since the update, I can't use Vorta (a GUI for BorgBackup)
In the logs I find these error :

2025-10-25 18:03:24,250 - vorta.borg.borg_job - ERROR - You do not have a supported version of the msgpack python package installed. Terminating.
2025-10-25 18:03:24,251 - vorta.borg.borg_job - ERROR - This should never happen as specific, supported versions are required by our pyproject.toml.
2025-10-25 18:03:24,251 - vorta.borg.borg_job - ERROR - Do not contact borgbackup support about this.
2025-10-25 18:03:24,252 - vorta.borg.borg_job - ERROR - Error: unsupported msgpack version

I tried sudo eopkg install python-msgpack , it says "already installed"
I tried sudo eopkg install msgpack and reboot : same problem
I tried sudo eopkg install --reinstall vorta and reboot : same problem

When looking to the upgraded packages list for this week, I find

python-msgpack was updated to 1.1.1-18 (@joebonrichie).

It seems there is something broken between Vorta/python-msgpack. I don't know how to solve it

Rgib It seems that neither borg 1.4.0 nor borg 1.4.1 support msgpack 1.1.1 yet, but could be patched with this commit.
Can you open an issue for vorta/borg not working anymore after python-msgpack update to version 1.1.1 on the dev tracker?

Discover seems to keep being reinstalled on the next reboot after removal in favour of GNOME Software (in Budgie) - is there a way to stop this happening?

That error usually occurs when eopkg was interrupted during an install/remove process. Such as by rebooting your computer in the middle of it.

You will need to:

mkdir tmp
cd tmp
wget https://cdn.getsol.us/repo/polaris/p/piksemel/piksemel-1.3.1-5-1-x86_64.eopkg
uneopkg piksemel-1.3.1-5-1-x86_64.eopkg
sudo mkdir -p /var/lib/eopkg/package/piksemel-1.3.1-5/
sudo mv metadata.xml /var/lib/eopkg/package/piksemel-1.3.1-5/

An repeat the same sort of process for any similar error until its fixed.

Harvey Thanks. Was making progress as per your suggestion, until I hit "No such file or directory: '/var/lib/eopkg/package/solus-sc-icons-20250501-91/metadata.xml'". The closest I could locate is https://cdn.getsol.us/repo/polaris/s/solus-sc/ but it does not have "solus-sc-icons-20250501-91.eopkg". Where can I locate the package?

I did the update today, but after the update I can't reboot back in. It goes to Failed to start epoch.service. Start the epoch transition.....

how do I fix this?? Thanks

Yurtle Does your computer connected to the internet when this happened? The epoch service will be skipped automatically if no internet is available. It should not cause you to not be able to boot.

Did you already try rebooting again? If it is not helping try following this guide on boot rescue.
