Plus it's not really necessary to wait. You can install the ISO from the webpage. Install. Update. This will be a huge update. Then you just keep updating every week. And when the new ISO is out your system is the same as if you would install the new ISO. Except if you have brand new hardware that doesn't work well with the kernel from the old ISO. Then you have to wait.

Or you live in the middle of nowhere with a K56flex modem and hourly power outages. In that truly dire scenario, a current offline ISO image can also be useful.
But even for this truly dramatic scenario, there is no ETA and there never will be one 😉

usysconf-epoch fix has been cherry-picked addressing the bug where it kept installing the new software center when the user had decided to remove it.

I've done several installations recently following the end of support for Windows 10, no problems. After installation, I run sudo eopkg up -y && reboot and that's it.

As a part of the epoch transition, the Solus Software Center will be removed if it is still installed, and replaced with GNOME Software if GNOME is detected, or KDE Discover if Budgie, Plasma, or Xfce are detected. Users can swap out which software center is installed after, if they so wish, or remove them entirely. Note that if you had the old Software Center pinned, as it is by default on Solus, the icon may be broken until you update on Polaris for updated desktop branding packages, and/or manually re-pin an application.

No. The decision was made to have Discover as default Software Center for Xfce, KDE Plasma and Budgie edition and GNOME Software for Gnome edition only.
You are free to replace Discover with GNOME Software though.

No those things were never in our repository and we have been saying since 2017 that third party section is being deprecated. Use a flatpak, appimage or make other arrangements.

Solus will always be focused on delivering on the best home computing experience (Plenty of GUI and such), while AerynOS will be bleeding-edge engineering focused. No details is set in stone yet, so there might more (or less) that can differentiate Solus and AerynOS.
