Secure connection failed

I dont want post name of website(Lets just say its a news site) mainstream site
that will come up and say (secure connection failed) does not do it all the time
Using Firefox have tried it with extensions disabled and still does it.
I have to restart firefox to get it to work just closing tab doesnt work.

Only have this issue with this one site.
My plasma machine seems to work fine.
Any ideas?

I can't say that I have had that problem on Budgie or Plasma using Firefox.

Have you tried Firefox in private mode or with an alternate profile?

I have had more and more problems with Firefox over the last year, but not this one.

I have a wrecking ball of an extension called NoScript where this happens "secure connection failed"

my guess: extensions or browser settings

**one of the reasons I quit using firefox is introduction of new security settings set by them that would cause 'behavior issues' like this as well but that's a longshot

after all the dust left my head I thought 'certificate.' See the three criteria I bolded? the middle one is the scary one 🙂 and the first and third more logical

brent I can undesrstand that if it didnt work at all but its happens when surfing their site
and like I say have to close firefox and restart to get their site to work again which isnt right either like a cache thingy or something.
I tried messing with various settings (firefox security) this morning and didnt get anywhere.

Will try brave next time to see if its just a firefox thing.

In (my FF alrernative) I wipe cookies and history every few days this clears up login/rendering/etc issues that may happen time to time when all these cookies intermingle too long.
But that's not what's happening here.

Most of my 'secure connection failed' warnings come from http/https stuff since the reasons are on there. But if this is a new site you go to often and the reason for 'secure connection failed' is NOT http/https...then it's a curious problem.

I have a dedicated browser (mullvad) just for reading the news of the day and that's all I use it for. Never had that issue on it. If you can rule out cookies, history, http/https, certificates, extensions or settings then I don't know.

brent I found a site talking about my exact issue on the same website (it was winders users)
So appears website issue some people reported it to them as of aug 2025 but the issue goes
back awhile so you know how those go.
Not going worry about it
