On the internet people report this is a bug related to the i915 module on kernels from the 6.16.x series. That’s why you should stay on LTS until there’s a patch/fix for 6.16.
In the meantime you can review the logs. If earlier, before logging into LTS, you tried booting the newest kernel and then restarted, check:
sudo journalctl -k -b -1 | grep -i i915
sudo journalctl -b -1 -o short-precise | head -n 100
You can also report it here. Run inxi -MSG
, because some information will be needed.
