I am an old school Linux vet, starting back in 1992, so I have been around the distro block a few times. Solus has become my peace, a distro that I actually appreciate through and through. Is it perfect? No, no distro or software is, but it is smooth, and I appreciate the different approach with a rolling distro. It is a solid blend / balance of newer packages and stability that is not found often when talking about rolling distros. It is simple and light, all in good ways. I also appreciate that it is not just a retread of Debian/Ubuntu, Fedora, Arch, or openSUSE. It is its own thing. The stateless nature and clr-boot-manager are something I didn't know I was missing, but they create a stable, easy-to-fix/manage environment that boots incredibly fast.
Honestly, it is the first project in a long time that I actually desired to contribute to, albeit just small things here and there as the team handles all the magic in the distro.
I am glad you found your way here, like I did. It truly is a great community and distro. It is something I found worth supporting.
