Chrome browsers forgetting saved passwords

I'm sure this is not a Solus problem. Using Brave (via our repo) and Chromium (flatpak). Both browsers will randomly just forget all their saved passwords at the same time. I used to think it was just due to an update, but they both do it and today they just did it again same time and I did no updates. Curious if anyone else is experiencing this and if there is a fix that I can try? Right now I'm using a third party password manager and I'm thinking that may be the permanent solution.

not having any forget problem with my work emails in ungoogled chromium i.e. it has never forgot.
here's my settings. don't know if this will help.

edit: if this was happening to me I would open settings and 1) clear all site settings 2)clear history 3) clear all cookies 4) even purge passwords. close browser, reopen. re-enter passwords. Might be 10 minutes at worst to do all this.

I wouldn't know how to parse any /home files or directories or caches on that end.

brent Would using a VPN cause issues? I use a VPN for work. Purely anecdotal but it may have started doing this near that time. Maybe could be why it's two browsers on two different frameworks?

even if different frameworks (I did not know this), brave's password settings are just a wrapper over chrome-settings. or not.

Random forgetting to me seems like too much of something (files, bloat) laying around. But that's a hunch.

If your settings look like mine...then why are both your chromiums forgetting? Why isn't mine? (Mine is flatpak but maybe irrelevant). I wonder how these browsers interact with Solus? I wonder if they leave a cache that needs to be cleared.

If I got time later I will search engine this stuff.

brent Much appreciated! I use Chromium for work, so not much bloat there just the same few websites every day. Brave is my personal use browser, Youtube, Reddit, etc... totally possibly there are bloat issues there🙂 My settings are the same as yours except I do have it set to sign in automatically ( I do not use browsers to save passwords for sensitive sites, only convenient ones.)
