I was using Linux Mint 18.3 version for almost two years & was perfectly happy with it, since it was my primary laptop for work I would casually game on it sometimes & it is mostly CS:Go. The laptop has AMD Radeon graphics 520 & the game would take almost 5 minutes to load & in game performance also was bad. It was set to low settings by default, to solve the issue I looked to install AMD gpu drivers but couldn't find one for Linux. Then I saw this article in Forbes and immediately wanted to try out Solus Linux because of the native AMD drivers support. Now I'm blown away by how the game works in high resolution by default. I would recommend Solus to anyone facing similar issues to try Solus.

I had tried many Linux distros in the past and always got irritated. I found that as a beginner I would often break my Linux install trying to get it the way I wanted. Since using Solus I have found that not only have I become much more competent at running, editing, and compiling software but, have also found Solus less likely to break because I changed a config (this is not a challenge XD)

I tip my hat to the Solus team after a few months of use they made their distro the os of choice on my laptop and got me to uninstall windows from my desktop!

SirOaken Oh don't worry, I break my Solus install on the regular with so much hacking of config files. It has helped me learn even more about Linux and it's tools.

gokulg4 - - - I came to Linux as a casual gamer as well. Did the Distro hop scotch, read in a forum that Solus was the way to fly. Have since wiped all computers in my house and only run Solus now.

fishyman65712 Funny how that works, eh? Hardest thing for me was understanding foss/unix philosophy (way of doing things) after a life of WIN. But no going back for me. Like many here, I feel smarter, which ain't easy at all...
