Hello everyone!
For many years I've been distro hopping, trying to find the friendliest distro without lacking the aesthetic and performance it could have. That was until 3 years when I discovered solus budgie and oh boy... what a surprise it was! Everything simply worked and clicked. For the first time, i had an OS that just worked and did everything i wanted it to do.
Unfortunately after many months of using solus, I had to go on another journey (mainly for work purposes and lack of space for a dual boot) to Windows. Everyone got different tastes but windows simply wasn't for me. I couldn't deal with the bloatware, the fishy Microsoft and even the look of it. I manage to regain some control over my pc by going for Windows LTSC that I kept until last week.
Yes last week! 'Cos I started going for and looking for a linux distro again and went for many flavours 😉 (endeavor OS, linux mint, opensuse, fedora...) but I wasn't finding the excitement i used to have before. And then, I remembered solus. I tried for the first time today the gnome DE and i was blown away by how smooth and pretty it is. I am very pleased with my rig now! The solus OS management is exactly as I remember it and i haven't found one thing to look back to.
I don't really know how many people are working on this project but to everyone who's concerned, you are doing an amazing job and it made my daily computer use way more enjoyable. A HUGE THANK YOU TO YOU.
On a side note, I was very surprised to see the solus forum as active as before (if not more) and as helpful too. I'm really happy to be part of that amazing adventure.
