SethStorm666 I have noticed that the Gimp appliction doesn't change the icon despite changing themes. It only happens with KDE taskbar. I have checked Gimp .desktop file and it all looks good. Anyone else noticed this? Is this a bug with Solus itself or only with Plasma? Here it shows up in the right way:
alfisya It works fine on me (GNOME). Try switching between X11 and Wayland session. Sometimes Icon behave differently on each session. If that is the case, than it is probably an upstream bug related to GIMP and Plasma.
TraceyC If you've done what alfisya suggested, and you still see the icon problem, it would be an upstream problem with Plasma. It would need to be reported on the KDE bug tracker. Please create a bug report there if there isn't one already. Thanks.
SethStorm666 Seems they closed my bug report saying it's an user error - which it aren't. I'm no newbie on that field. I'm disappointing on how the KDE devs dismissed it.
SethStorm666 Found the error. When running Gimp with "GDK_BACKEND=x11" environment variables trigger the bug.
TraceyC I took a look at that bug report. If I understand correctly, if you run GIMP without the GDK_BACKEND=x11 environment variable, on Wayland, the icons are the ones you expect in the menu and the task manager?
