Brother P-touch P700 driver

Hi, i need a driver for my Brother P-touch P700 USB Labelprinter.
On Brother Website only driver for Windows and Mac.
Where can I get it?

berjer Solus provides you with a Print Settings program to help search for and install drivers. Have you tried using that?
The Solus Help Centre provides a good starting point for setting up printers.
Not sure how lucky you will be as a label printer is not particularly mainstream. In order to get an obscure scanner working I ended up with an outdated version of Windows running in Oracle VirtualBox just to use the scanner(!). It works very well for the odd occasion when I need to use it and is still less worry than needing to run Windows as my main OS.

BuzzPCSOS I Messed with my ptouch and Dynamo till blue in the face
under linux left them on the mac laptop.
But I think your Idea of vm for that is a good call if you only have one computer.
At least on Solus.

Axios 😆 It drives the wife mad though, I have my Samsung laser printer working on Solus and my flatbed scanner working via VirtualBox. Everything works perfectly but you just need to remember that scanning stuff is not that straightforward.
Using Windows like an App makes it quite nice to use. I don't need a browser or updates and a host of other clutter because it is only a (rather large) printing tool with no internet access. For older hardware Windows 7 works fine and keeps all my old kit out of the bin. Switching off the network from the Devices menu means that using old OS's is not a security risk, but you do need to make sure that imported software comes from a reputable source.

Last time I use a VirtualBox (Win11), but if I open the Brother Software it say can not work because problem.
Maybe I test is with VirtualBox and Win7

Oh, I forgot, I have change Solus from Xfce to KDE Plasma.

I found a Brother Labelprinter (PT-P900w) with driver.deb, maybe it works with Solus?!

berjer Windows 11 enforces a requirement for signed drivers. If you device is supported by earlier versions of Windows then that would probably make things easier for you, also the disc space required will be less.
Don't forget to enable the virtual OS to connect with your printer by using the Devices menu at the top of the screen by checking the tickbox for the relevant USB device.
There is quite a steep learning curve with VirtualBox, a lot of the basics have been discussed on this forum previously so a quick search using the forum search tool should find most things.

At the time I have a other problem, the computer don't start right after hibernate, only Screen on, off, on, off...
If computer run I will try VirtualBox again ....

You can try using this method. You will need to run
sudo eopkg install gd-devel libusb-devel cmake gettext
And if you haven’t done this yet, install the build tools on Solus by running:
sudo eopkg install -c system.devel
In this project, the script to run is compile.sh rather than build.sh.
./ptouch-print --list-supported

I suggest not using sudo for compilation — just run ./compile.sh
sudo is only needed for installation or when testing the program with administrator privileges.

Hi, the Computer run now.
I have install the Virtualbox and want use it with Win7
After install i have reboot the computer before open.
I don't know what is wrong.

I also Test with Wine to use the Driver and Software from Brother. But the Software are not Open 😭

Update:
I have test Virtualbox with Win10.
It work, but not good.
Windows 10 Window is very small, after fullscreen the Mouse don't work in Windows.
I have change the PT-P700 to PT-P900W.
On USB, Brother Soft not found the Printer, only over Network found the Printer.
I don't want use Virtualbox Windows 10 with Network.

I forgot, the PT-P900w has .deb und .rpm driver.
I found on getsol.us a how to do for .deb install on solus.
But it works not ....
