Sync Updates for Week 31, 2025

Heya folks! It's sync day, and that means it's time for the weekly Solus roundup!

We have a new package in the repository this week. Featherpad is a lightweight Qt plain-text editor for Linux. It is independent of any desktop environment and has many features, including drag-and-drop support, an optionally permanent search-bar with a different search entry for each tab, and syntax highlighting for common programming languages.

Security updates

We have a couple of security updates this week. Always be sure to install available updates to get the latest vulnerability protections.

python-django was updated to 5.2.4-27 (@algent-al). Includes security fixes for CVE-2025-32873.
sunshine was updated to 2025.628.4510-18 (@SlowNicoFish). Includes security fixes for CVE-2025-53095, CVE-2025-53096.

Tested Plasma version on VM, Framework, Dell XPS 13, and Thinkpad. Tested Budgie, Gnome, and XFCE on VM.
All good to go so far.

Seems like there was a PR submitted yesterday, and it was merged just now: https://github.com/getsolus/packages/pull/6132

So it's available in Unstable immediately and will be part of the next sync (unless unexpected problems arise)

i made the switch back from nixos to solus. this went smooth. i used to be ultra active user before the solus split with ikey i think my last time i used it was 2017 now that he's back i am too 😃
