I installed Niri after it was added to the repo in the last update and just thought I'd share my initial impressions. For those that don't know, Niri is a Wayland tiling, scrolling window manager, which places windows in columns on an infinite strip going to the right. Moving between windows is achieved through keybinds, and/or mouse/touchpad gestures. It supports dynamic workspaces too , so that you can have multiple strips, which are placed vertically below the current strip/workspace.
Using the integrated touchpad on my laptop, switching between apps is easy, with a 3-finger scroll left or right, and changing workspaces is done with a 3-finger scroll up or down. The navigation is so simple and natural with the touchpad that I donβt think I'll be switching away from Niri anytime soon.
I've installed Waybar with a customised theme to provide a panel at the top, showing various information, and Fuzzel (also with a customised theme) as both an application launcher and to logout, reboot, or shutdown.
Fuzzel is launched with a simple keybind, as are my typically used Apps.
In all, I couldn't be happier with my first few days with Niri.
Here is a screenshot, taken with the Niri inbuilt screenshot function, showing a couple, of apps, the waybar panel and the Fuzzel logout menu (top right).

I would like to thank all those who make Solus what it is, and especially to @EbonJaeger for getting Niri added to the repo!
