Just had this problem raise its ugly head once again. It does not matter if it is Garuda, Catchy, Fedora, KaOS, or even Gnome when using Wayland. My Solus Budgie drive is impervious to this sort of behavior.
On occasion, when I am using a Chromium-based browser on Wayland, my desktop shatters into a dozen funky-colored triangles and goofy artifacts (screenshot). Most often it occurs if I play a video in one window while working in another, but can happen in other scenarios. I have an AMD 7700x system, 32GB with integrated graphics. X11 stuff and Windows works flawlessly. Firmware is updated. This is the main reason I go distro-hopping- always thinking that Wayland development has fixed my issue. Nope.
My choices are probably limited to distros who are not steering toward Wayland. I read that Solus development is focused on bringing Budgie to Wayland. Anyone else having this issue? My desktop is pretty generic.
