I have some movies as MP4 on a storage disc.
I don't know how you all do it, but watching a movie on your computer sucks.
So I went thru all the DVD+R RW discs of movies a friend made me a decade ago. Bunch foreign stuff like Truffaut and stuff I never got around to watching. I saw the RW and licked my lips:

So I downloaded devede-ng
from the solus repo. directed it to the MP4 and let it burn:

But it didn't burn crap. the old Truffaut movie was still on it.
I thought "do I have to format a re-writable disk before burning?"
So I opened upgnome-disks:

RO--Read Only. WTH? It said RW.
I tried chmod and chown
on the /dvd/Sr0
...no luck.
Why did this piece of software pretend to burn a movie and spin it's wheels?
As it's a brent-project, I don't do any research til the end.
Then I see it in the fine print:

DVD+R equals only one burn. Non-rewritable.
The RW is a trade logo (see picture of disk) or industry standard thing that has nothing to do with the disk rewriting.
If my friend's old DVDs said DVR+RW I would have been in business.
This is the stone age I live in: my Walmart and Best Buy don't even sell any physical DVD disks inside their store.
10-packs of DVD+R (all I need) Ebay for $20....
Someday I'll get hip.
