Heya folks! It's sync day, and that means it's time for the weekly Solus roundup!
This week, we've made the Nuitka-compiled Python 3 version of eopkg
the default. Work on this has been ongoing for a while, and we now feel that it is ready to become the default over the original Python 2 version. This is the next big step towards removing Python 2 from our repository, and it's been a long time coming. The package manager should continue to work as normal. If you notice any issues, please report them on the eopkg
issue tracker.
Both of our kernel packages have been updated to the latest point releases. This brings the -current
kernel to version 6.14.11, and the LTS kernel branch to 6.12.34.
The KDE Frameworks stack has been updated to 6.15.0. This release brings a lot of fixes, and some new features. Check out their release announcement.
Version 2 of the Arduino IDE (arduino-ide
) has landed in the repository this week. It is a more modern editor than the legacy version of the IDE, featuring a more responsive interface with autocompletion, code navigation, and a live debugger. More information can be found on their website.
