Staudey I believe I was just thinking of what Jessie's (distrowatch) official stamp of inclusion/official is, or is not I guess. Not Aeryn itself.

According to https://github.com/orgs/AerynOS/discussions/22#discussioncomment-12841719 step 5, it does.

I believe it uses systemd-boot too (if memory serves me correctly)

I have bookmarked everything you have given me! thank you.

Having switched to Linux about a decade ago, I have never established a comfort zone with Gnome DE but ok with all the rest.
I am mature enough to realize this mental Gnome obstacle is mine and mine alone. It certainly is another way of doing things as far as a DE.

brent I'd steered clear of GNOME until earlier this year, but decided to try it out in a VM and realised that it actually suits my workflow, so I'm now using Solus GNOME and so far so good. I do still have Budgie installed should I feel the need...

Ironically on a stick full of Ventoy isos, Aeryn was the only OS that did not load, grub or normal.
Think I have to give it it's own disk.

This is an old laptop with 4GB ram and a platter drive. For $35 on ebay I found an 8GB mem stick and a 280GB SSD, both perfect swap outs.

If $35 can refurbish an old painfully slow laptop that was free, then I reckon I will have succeeded. We shall see.
