Solus Updates for Week 21, 2025

Heya folks! It's sync day, and that means it's time for the weekly Solus roundup!

Mesa has been updated to the latest in the 25.1 series. The full changelogs can be found here and here.

flask-cors has been updated to 6.0.0. In this version, path specificity ordering has changed to improve specificity. This may break users who expected the previous incorrect ordering. It also fixes a few security vulnerabilities.

After a decade of no development and multiple forks, Aegisub 3.4.0 has been released. Check out their blog post for more details about this release.

Security updates

We have several security updates this week, so make sure to install your updates! Don't get caught out without the latest security fixes.

firefox was updated to 138.0.4-362 (@HarveyDevel). Includes security fixes for CVE-2025-4919, CVE-2025-4918.
flask-cors was updated to 6.0.0-13 (@Staudey). Includes security fixes for CVE-2024-6844, CVE-2024-6839, CVE-2024-6866.
opera-stable was updated to 119.0.5497.38-342 (@HarveyDevel). Includes security fixes for CVE-2025-4664.
postgresql was updated to 17.5-57 (@silkeh). Includes security fixes for CVE-2025-4207.
rclone was updated to 1.69.3-34 (@HarveyDevel). Includes security fixes for CVE-2025-30204.

All good on bare metal machines on Plasma. VM now on unstable repo as a bit of a preview.

Works fine. Although I got a Discover can't launch anymore. I can see on the bug report (which I made a comment), that someone had this in unstable, but I'm on stable.

Plasma by the way.

SethStorm666 Well, whatever changes that cause this in unstable before are already in shannon now. Thanks for the report.

Update on both Budgie and Plasma versions went fine.

Unable to reproduce Discover error on stable. It launches fine on my laptop. I do know I have seen issues, not on Solus, when KDE has updates where certain themes can cause Discover and Settings to have issues launching. Generally have to reset the theme to clear the issue. I am not sure if that is the case here, as I have not looked at any debug logs.

As per this post I got /dev/sda1 2048 1003519 1001472 489M EFI System but then /dev/sda1 489M 458M 31M 94% /boot

After the update, Bambu Studio Appimage is giving an error /tmp/.mount_Bambu_LwPemk/bin/bambu-studio: error while loading shared libraries: libOSMesa.so.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory. I guess, I have to find a solution for that...
