brent No I got to try it seemed to work but gave an error when it booted
So when I went back to burning iso to usb still gave error when it first booted.
They must write something in some funky place.

The error still their when I burn Budgie on it oh well will burn my Winpe to it which doesnt
have error and leave it be.

Not going get these bright ideas anymore..lol

Axios Formatting a drive that has had Ventoy on it is not necessary, the Ventoy install program has a "Remove Ventoy" option that does the job well and leaves you with a blank canvas.
If you are having issues with writing other boot programs to your stick now then perhaps it could be the stick itself that is to blame.
Used Ventoy for a long time now and the biggest issue is rebooting before the iso has been fully copied to the stick. Linux often tells you that the copy process has finished way before it actually has. I always make it a rule to unmount before removing the drive or rebooting. If it won't unmount I just leave it until it will - sometimes up to 20mins. This is especially relevant to slow drives and ones that have already done a lot of work.

Had Secure boot enabled on the ventoy install. (I dont use it.)

Been in computer room for 2 weeks going through stuff and fixing some computers of mine up
guess its time for a break..lol (when done the junk goes to trash bin)

I knew something was messing it up.
That option is selected by default not sure its wise but oh well.

Axios Always have secure boot enabled on Ventoy even when working on legacy boot as far as I can remember (it's been a while). The trick was in initial formatting of the drive, with Ventoy MBR will usually handle secure boot whereas the secure boot compatibility that comes with GPT will not let you boot legacy. So the best way is generally to format MBR regardless of what devices you are working on.

BuzzPCSOS Ya I follow and know why now those msg onscreen when booting.
But since disabling that my legacy and eufi work fine now before the legacy would not run.
Did go back and do then ventoy uninstall and reinstalled it to usb so maybe that had something do with it
but its working fine now so not going mess with it.

I like having both on one stick tho

I made a bo bo and formatted wrong one earlier and I done gave up.
Tried to redo just like before and crash burn..lol
Sooooo went back to single stick for each.

Ventoy seems to be very temper mental.
I know one thing you got use the ventoy option to put disk back like it was or it causes issues.
Ohh well pages for history books....

Axios That could be because of the sticks you are using - not all sticks are created equal.
I used two identical cheap 8GB unbranded sticks for a while, both installed with Ventoy at the same time, They were both slow to write to and suffered the Linux issue of reporting that file copy had finished when it was really still going on. One stick was significantly worse than the other and would sometimes fail so badly that the only way that I could find to format it was by using this program from inside VirtualBox Windows.
Also USB3 (SuperSpeed USB, blue tang in the plug) does not always play nicely with legacy boot hardware. It should be reverse compatible but that is not always the case at boot time.
Some really interesting Ventoy information here, learned something today already.
Note: One of the reasons that I moved from Budgie to KDE was down to the way KDE lets you handle USB drives and will tell you when it is safe to remove the drive. This is a real USB stick lifesaver.

I go their now and then dont know why i didnt see those but was prob looking for something else.

This. The devil is in the details.
I suspected something like this when I discovered problems with USB booting + Ventoy. There's a thread "My Computer Won't Boot Off USB", which was originally titled differently, something about your mother's behind being very backwards compatible. I guess my intuition was right after all.

I just wrote a second USB stick with Ventoy and no probs with UEFI or BIOS boot as I have two machines with both. I like it it's easy to install and customise.

banger I have done alot of image burning to my sticks
messed around alot last nite with them think they are cool now.

I ran the grc util on my sticks but then used rufus to format them then tested writing files
and write speed was much improved. (there was some kind of difference by using rufus over other formatting
methods not sure what was going on) Yes rufus can format usb.
ntfs was fastest and ext4 was next inline.

And after that Yumi saw them just fine and long story short I got a functional Yumi usb.
So far its work but some things it just does not like but all my important stuff works.
The older stuff has issues but newer iso's seem to be some what more functional.
