Solus not booting on Asus ROG GL703GS – freeze on start

Hey,
I’m trying to install Solus on my Asus ROG GL703GS. I boot from USB (GNOME ISO, also tried other editions), but it always freezes during startup and the desktop doesn’t show. I tried using nomodeset, but it didn’t help. Fedora 42 works fine on this laptop. Any advice or ideas what to try?

EDIT: solus 4.5 iso is booting and installing normally, but new iso (4.6, 4.7) not

trinajstica Can you post the specs of the laptop. (CPU, GPU, RAM, Storage and such) Maybe inxi -b from Fedora.

solus 4.5 iso is booting and installing normally, but new iso (4.6, 4.7) not, So I will do 4.5 install and upgrade to latest solus on this laptop...

the freeze is on Ventoy's end. I am guessing you are using it. unless your rig is rejecting a live usb iso burned correctly which is less common in my experience.

If you have victory going from 4.5 to 4.7 please followup here.
Seems like an endeavor fraught with peril, and something I would do for the hell of it. Good luck.

I burned the ISO to the USB drive directly (gnome-disks). Yes, I upgraded from 4.5 to 4.7 without any problems.
