brent They got busted phoning home, even with that turned off. We actually tested it in our labs as well with OpenSnitch and sure enough, it was. I believe they have removed it after getting caught, but that is enough for me to not recommend it.
Tails also removed them from their recommendation over it. Since there are other tools like FMW which are clean and completely open source, I tend to recommend it. Or if you are technical, the dd command is always there, but that is a higher learning curve for people new to Linux.
