Solus Updates for Week 18, 2025

KRDP server is broken again. Connects once but wont allow a subsequent connection. Remote gets stuck on a white screen while connecting and other clients wont connect.

Edit: It appears I am a liar it is working now 🙂

2nd Edit: Nope definitely flaky. Sometimes shows the share box on remote Plasma sometimes doesn't. Needs fixing.

3rd Edit: Have reset the remote desktop to defaults and it seems ok will test more.

Solus Budgie. I'm getting serious screen flickering on my monitor after yesterday's update. Not sure if its related.

How do I check if its software or hardware issue?

I swapped my monitor cables but problem still exists.

Simple check to see if it is hardware or software would be to boot from your original Solus install media and see if the problem persists there.

Wine programs, eg. Virtual DJ are a bit audio glitchy when playing songs has wine been updated in this package. I see 10.7 is out? Other multimedia programs work ok just seems wine related.

Seems video related. Changing from Built in Audio to Pro Audio reduces the crackling/glitching but scrolling Brave seems to crackle ever so slightly. For an audiophile like me its a bit annoying.

elusian probably kernel related. This is an integrated keyboard for an Asus laptop? If so you could try reaching out to the Asus Linux project since they generally maintain Asus devices.

Thank you. However I tried what @BuzzPCSOS suggested (although I'm not sure he was replying to me) and even with the install media they are still broken.
This mean that either they are physically broken (they now have stopped turning on even at boot, so maybe I imagined that...) or it's firmware (the previous configuration survived a full OS wipe, because I configured it before installing solus).

I will still look into the asus linux project, thank you.

In kernel 6.14.4 I can't connect the dualshock 4 via bluetooth I found this bug report https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=220061

evolve-8 Same problem with Dual Sense Edge, but to me it looks like after some connection attempts it works. After about 5 times it connects with my bluetooth.
