Axios Hm, did you reboot after the sync? What DE are you using?

That got things happening but when starting up I get these 2 warnings on screen

Budgie
Opensnitch Seems sluggish and slow not computer
But it is starting now and gui works

Rebooted couple more times seems responsive now and working except for those warnings
Its late here will give it a run through later.

also I saw both errors common around github it's a known known to devs and always seems to get patched and always seems to affect X amt of users, and, the kicker, for an infinite amt of reasons for ebpf errors from no symlink to missing stuff in folders etc etc

but you have already done all that reading. hope it works out

Axios Glad that worked. At the moment I haven’t packaged the ebpf modules so these warnings are expected. As for the sluggishness, I can’t explain that.

I can't update "Package failed to install: Could not update: Component.localName: 'ar' language of tag 'LocalName' is empty." I use discover

betelgeza I fixed it by using the Solus software center instead of discover. Does anyone know why discover has this issue?

Software center uses the old eopkg. Discover uses a newish package kit backend for eopkg python 3 version. When you switch between old and new it has to recreate everything thus fixing what broke. Alternatively you could have just done:

sudo eopkg ur --force and kept using discover.

We do not know the root cause of the issue.

wow darkly is beautiful, to my suprise works with light themes as well (i guess the name made me thing is was for dark themes only)
everything else seems good as well!

edit: big thanks to whoever added darkly. feels like my plasma has gone from 2010 to 2025!

uni-dos I updated opensnitch on my other laptop everything went fine and working fine
all except the 2 warnings. (As you explained)
I think I got some gremlins in the other laptop that I my have to attend to
This machine runs budgie also.
Again thanks for you hard work.
Never in a million years did I expect to see this little program on LInux or solus.

I used Discover to update my system (Budgie desktop).
There were 57 packages to update (including 47 system updates) and everything was OK. Discover seems to be smoother than Gnome Software (subjective impression?).

2 comments, however:

Discover doesn't display alerts, unlike Solus Software, which can be annoying if one day, there's an urgent security update to be done.
Also, last week, there was a kernel update (version 6.12.21-316). As a result, the boot screen displayed the new kernel and the previous kernel; so far, this is normal.
After processing the new update today, there was no kernel update. After rebooting, surprise: the boot screen now only displays "Solus 4.7 Endurance," which I assume means access to the most recent Solus kernel. Is this normal?

Not exactly. Discover and GNOME Software Center are already released and available for people to install, as noted by people using them. The intention in 4.7 is to allow people to voluntarily install them, so they could share feedback and report any bugs so we can address them.

In 4.8, Discover and GNOME Software Center will be installed by default in new installs (and added to existing installs), along with Solus Software Center. This will allow more users to test and report feedback. We will address any issues coming out of this as well.

We do intend to deprecate Solus Software Center in the release after 4.8, if there are no major issues in doing so and we feel the other software centers live up to our standard of quality. (No ETAs).

1 PC no issues. Other PC got the issue again with the old kernel not getting removed and had to do it manually from console after failed boot. Very weird, on mine it deleted an extra old kernel and on the other it deleted no kernels.. I posted this in another thread and on the github page.
