Staudey SUSE, the German company and its Linux distribution? ^^
I actually broke down, why openSUSE / SUSE falls under US Jurisdiction. https://codeberg.org/Linux-Is-Best/Outside_Us_Jurisdiction/issues/26
I believe I have repeatedly explained that legality is my primary focus. If you're registered as a business, non-profits, or organization, I focus on the country (or countries) you are located in. If you're not registered anywhere, I focus on your implied jurisdiction. Not defining one, does not mean you do not have one. I look at this in a manner a court of law would review this, when determining jurisdiction.
As also previously states, I understand the nature of open source, means people from all over the world can contribute to the development, but that does not mean the development is stateless and lawless. Nor does it mean you're subject to all 200 independent jurisdictions on the planet, either. And in the case of Solus Linux, it would appear, whether intention or not, you're subject to US Jurisdiction.
I find it laughable of the notion that "it is hard" so it must be "impossible" to define a jurisdiction or focus on the legality. But I have come to expect such from "groupies". People seem to adopt a tribe mindset surrounding any corporation, product, or service. With this mindset, people tend to lose sight of objectivity, and always view the corporation, product, or service in the positive - Whatever viewpoint or angle, that furthers the acceptance and adaption of their tribe, and in this case, the tribe is Solus Linux.
I am not hating on Solus Linux. I actually like the operating system. It was one of the first operating systems I thought to add to my list, in fact. But in making my list, I must remain objective, and that means excluding originations, products, and services that I may have liked and preferred in the past. In fact, in making my list, I have come to the uncomfortable realization, that much of the things I used and liked, had to be rethought.
This will be my last reply to this thread. I once again thank everyone for their time and consideration. I fear it does not server to continue a dialog on this matter, as it will only circle around a tribe mindset which I have seen before, plus invite possible trolls and misinformation.
I will say, in close, you cannot escape politics. The beliefs and ideology of your country's leadership, forms and shapes the rule of law and justice within your society. To avoid this truth is to live in ignorance, of the world around you, while your life and the lives of everyone you know and love, are directly impacted by the type of government that governs your lives.
I for one, hope, the United States of America, has a better future than the one I see unfolding. I wish everyone reading this good health, long life, filled with prosperity, peace, love, and happiness.
If a member of the staff wishes to lock this thread, please do so. Again, thank you for your time and consideration.
Mod edit: Removed one paragraph. I think the point has been sufficiently made.
