9070 XT support?

im planning to get a 9070 xt as soon as i can, but i have no idea where to check if its already supported. would it be part of the kernel? or something else?

im hoping the team is keen on keeping solus working with the newest hardware as much as possbile and thus update any components (such as the kernel) if needed to run these cards

What you're probably wanting to know first up as a Linux gamer/enthusiast... All of the Radeon RX 9070 series support is upstream in the Linux kernel and Mesa. For my pre-launch testing I have been successfully using the upstream code within the Linux kernel and Mesa -- no yet-to-be-merged code or any experimental branches or anything along those lines.

We've already got kernel version 6.12 in stable, so as long as you're on linux-current it should be pretty much plug-and-play. YMMV of course.

EDIT: Actually we may be a bit behind on mesa. We have 24.3 currently, but looks like it may be a bit buggy with these cards. Wondering if @ReillyBrogan is looking for a reason to upgrade again?

to answer my own question, in case anyone is wondering:
it work flawlessly out of the box for regular desktop use. gaming i dont know, i have never gamed on linux
i could also add that its rougly 7-8 degrees cooler than the 7900xt at idle, same setup. and this is the tiniest one you can get, the powercolor reaper
