brent Thanks! I had just hunted down an answer from AI Chat (DuckDuckGo) and adapted it to Solus/Budgie:
Install gnome-tweaks from the Software Center, run, go to Appearance->Legacy Applications, choose Adwaita-dark from the dropdown menu. Done, it’s perfectly matching everything else now.
The Desktop Settings had Widgets undefined and when I did the dropdown there was no Adwaita, dark or otherwise, so now that’s a different dark style than everthing else. I had to choose Materia Dark, which was the closest match it seems.
Oh well, close enough!
Edit: whoops, everything got changed to Materia-dark, which has a darker background than Adwaita-dark , the original color. So your method would have worked, I think, at least to get everything matching. I can live with this for now.
The main issue is that I’m on an OLED laptop and having Nemo come up with a bright white background was doing a number on my eyes. That is solved now.
P.S- I can get the Adwaita-dark theme back for everything in gnome-tweaks’ Legacy Applications dropdown and have done so. I prefer the dark grey background rather than near-black. 😻
