Harvey

I had 82 Solus packages (695.54 MiB) to update today and, whether on Gnome Software or Solus Software Center, I was blocked on the linux-firmware package.
Your terminal commands allowed me to fix this issue and after reboot, my computer is now up to date.

Thanks again to you. 👍

I also had to use the CLI in order to get the updates to download and install. Thanks for the commands to do that.

Deixei a noite toda e de manhã ainda estava congelada, desisti, e agora estou usando a solução apresentada pelo Harvey, ao qual eu agradeço.

Yay! Thank you!! Everything is progressing excellently now

Sebastian Harvey posted commands to work around this issue.
Just copy them into your terminal.

    Yes, that's working flawlessly

Same happening for me at the moment on a fresh install. Will let it run for a bit and see if it finnishes.

PeacheyMcKeitch Will let it run for a bit and see if it finnishes.

      Why?
      Unnecessary waste of time.

      Use the commands from @Harvey

      wget https://packages.getsol.us/shannon/l/linux-firmware/linux-firmware-20250211-88-1-x86_64.eopkg
      sudo mv linux-firmware-20250211-88-1-x86_64.eopkg /var/cache/eopkg/packages/

      and then update again.

      sudo eopkg up -y

I guess we need to run the update with linux-firmware excluded, as the first step, right?
eopkg up -x linux-firmware, and then install it separately as in the above instructions?

Harvey I love your kung-fu, but will try it if this attemp fails again
I was stuck at 10kbps max for that same pkg and on my side the thing is massive, like 1.1GB in size but now for some reason after me insisting a lot like a dictator it's now pulling at 252kbps which is far better than 10kbps and it have moved from 49% where it was stuck to 52%

        @Harvey method works
I can attest because It's now installing everything, I have hope even if it is now only the 23rd pkg installing
it's a fresh PC so I have great expectations, thanks guys!
Just the concerned Team have to investigate deeply, in my case it was a fresh install and I'm not a noob and know about the forum where I can check but a noob would have been lost would go crazy in a manner like "Solus isn't good..." just because of that, so please investigate deeply.
        Thanks!

Harvey worked all day just got home and have no idea why a kernel download was waiting after installing one last night. when that wouldn't dowload I use yr instructions and now I'm fine.
Just didn't see anything in this thread about a new kernel superseding the one I installed last night.

        Heh... interesting, unstable:

        vs stable:

        size is different...
is there any difference between stable/unstable? It's the same server right?
